I am 49 old, I used kefir for almost three weeks only till now; I noticed that the fat around kidneys area in my body and at the chest area began to vanish. my weight has dropped from 102 to 98, really it is great; it is likely to be more effective on empty stomach rather than full one, 1 letter daily at several times would be better.
further more I began to sleep deeply, some chest pain also is releasing now, my lugs seems to be more healthy as well; more powerful activity is noticeably occurred to my daily activities.
the first few days after using it; I used to have some headache with some high blood pressure once I drink a cup of kefir, but it is OK now.

Hello
a\A new way to eat kerfir. This morning I mixed an instant pudding with a bit less milk then I added the more solid kerfir to it. This can be eaten as a dessert or do what I did. I added it my cereal , very tasty, tastes a bit lemony.

I was given some kefir grains and I have been doing pretty well with them, but now it doesn't seem to be making kefir, but just separating the whey and grains. The grains are multiplying, so is it that I don't have enough milk to support them (small jar)? Do I need to make a double batch instead of keeping the multiplying grains all together?

I'm having trouble with my grains. I moved across country last August and I put my grains into storage at that time (in a sealed glass jar with a little milk) In the fridge. I havent touched them until a week ago. So for 8 months I didnt use them. I've been trying to make kefir now for a couple weeks...unsuccesfully. Are the grains bad now? Any one have any knowledge of this?

I am so happy to find this site about making my own kefir. I am hooked on Kefir. I have several jars of kefir in my refrigerator, but did not leave any kefir out so can I start making kefir again with what I have in my refrigerator? If not, I would like to order some new kefir grains.
I'd like to hear what everyone does with their kefir and what to do with extra kefir.

I just recently started making my own kefir and I'm not sure it's coming out right. The bottom half of the jar fills up wiyh whey and the grains float up to the top.Is this how it's suppose to turn out?
