Some people just don’t like the tangy zesty taste of kefir. I even have a friend whose sole reason he didn’t drink kefir was because he just didn’t like milk, and there’s no persuading him other wise. I’ve found that this is specially true with children as well. They don’t understand or care about the health benefits, if they don’t like it then that’s that.
Luckily kefir doesn’t always have to be made from milk. You can make kefir from plain water and sugar or honey. Some people use ordinary kefir grains that they use for making kefir from milk while some people use another variety more commonly known as water kefir grains. Instead of being white and and cauliflower looking, water kefir grains are translucent and resembles rocks or cystals. To make water kefir from these, you simply make a 5-10% sugar-water solution and add the water kefir grains. You can also add lemons, figs, raisins or other kind of fruits to add to its nutrional value.
